"If you never emptied the trash in your home, there would soon be a
fowl smell in
your home. It's the same with your mind. Your mind is the home
of your thoughts.
If you don't release old thoughts, your life becomes bitter
with stinkin' thinkin'
and emotional clutter.
Empty your mental and emotional trash can of any stressful or
painful thoughts.
Each day you have the choice of living in a state of grumbling
or gratitude.
Don't allow the irritations and challenges of this day or your
past to steal your
joy. Holding on to toxic emotions is not healthy or productive.
Your toxic emotions
can negatively impact your health, peace of mind, relationships
and work. Just
as you empty your trash at home often, you have to do the same
with your mind.
Count your blessings. Change your point view. Each moment is a
gift to you. Listen
and enjoy the song "Count It All Joy" by BeBe and CeCe Winans.
Focus on your priority for this day. Do the best you can right
now where are and
with what you have. It's only a matter of time before your change comes.
Start giving thanks right now for the wonderful break through
about to happen in
your life. That's right ... smile...sit up straight...shake off
the heavy stress,
speak and walk with courage.

You were born with a capacity for great courage, for
trust in your surroundings and for faith in yourself.
But something happened along the way that changed
this positive capacity.
If you were criticized at an early age and denied
encouragement by those you trusted you could
learn to believe that something was wrong with
you. Over time, such beliefs may appear as the
absolute truth-a definition of your identity.
Guess what? It's simply not true! You are perfect
and it's time to act that way. As hard as it may be
to regain your self-esteem, you can forget and forgive
what happened when you were young. You can
regain the courage, trust, and faith that are your
birthright, by recognizing that, although youthful
disillusionment can be changed, it can be overcome.

Sing Praises to the Lord
Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: Declare among the
people His doings!" Psalms 9:11
When we enter into God's presence let us not focus on our weaknesses
but on HIS doings. Let us focus on His mercy and abounding grace, the
grace that has provided Jesus Christ to take all our sins away. The
grace that set us free from the captivity of sin. Let us look to Jesus
and accept His precious blood and it's cleansing power to make up pure
and holy in His sight. When we come to truly appreciate how much grace
has been shed for us, it is then that there is a longing for the
presence of God. Yet even more amazing is it to realize that God longs
for us. His Word tells us that He inhabits our praises. The most
extraordinary part of worship is not that we long for God to be in our
presence, but that He also longs to be with us. So let us remember
this the next time we enter into His presence, our beloved Father and
our precious Savior will be right there with us. Let us, therefore,
take every opportunity to raise our voices in praise and adoration
to these who are our very life.
Father, we are so unworthy and yet Your grace has reached us. We long
for Your presence and thank You that when we come to worship You, You
meet us there. We are thankful that we do not have to walk through
this life alone. Thank You for the amazing ways You work in our lives.
May we never lose sight of what You do for us and may our lips praise
You for all eternity, for You are a wonderful God and we long to
worship You forever. Amen

He's FaithfulIf we are not faithful, God will still be faithful,
because he cannot be false to himself. 2 Timothy 2:13"
We don't get it!
Because God's blessings are dispensed according to the riches of his
grace, not according to the depth of our faith.
Why's that important to know? So you won't get cynical. Look around
you. Aren't there more mouths than bread? More wounds than
physicians? More who need the truth than those who tell it?
So what do we do? Throw up our hands and walk away? Tell the world
we can't help them? No, we don't give up!
We look up. We trust. We believe.
Christ has proven worthy. He never fails!
That's what makes God—God.

Devotional For Dieters 1/4
January 4
1 Corinthians 6:20
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body,
and in your spirit, which are God's.
Sometimes it is difficult to stick with a diet once it has begun. If
we are dieting for ourselves, we often lose heart, but if we feel
we're dieting for someone else, it can be the motivation we need to
stick with it. Every day we make promises to God, and those promises
we do everything in our power to keep. God calls us to be the best we
can be, physically as well as spiritually. We should commit our diets
to God. If we see dieting as a sacrifice we make to God, then we can
find a deeper power to remain committed to our efforts to lose weight.
Let everything we do honor and glorify God, for that is what truly
pleases Him.
Today's thought: We are not alone in our attempt to lose weight!

Running Ahead of Your Supply Lines - #6518
Wednesday, January 4, 2012
Americans are a medical basket case. I mean, if you look at the
statistics about ulcers, and blood pressure, and heart disease, you
begin to realize that we're like unraveling as a people. And I'm sure
that some kind of stress-related illness like that has to affect
either you, or a member of your family, or someone close to you. It's
almost impossible to live in a vacuum and not be affected by it.
In fact, the American Academy of Family Physicians says that most of
the illnesses they treat are stress related. And it says that the six
major causes of death in America all find stress as a contributing
factor. Our bodies, our personalities are screaming at us about a sin
that we seldom talk about, but we often commit.
I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about
"Running Ahead of Your Supply Lines."
Now, our word for today from the Word of God is in Matthew 6:34. Jesus
is speaking, and here He names what I guess we could call the stress
sin. Here it is: "Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow
will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Did
you catch it? Yeah, the stress sin - worry.
Now, it's not on our list of the big five sins usually, or the big ten
sins that we as Christians are against, the "thou shalt nots," and yet
worry may in fact be one of the most common and most damaging sins in
our Christian experience. Jesus, in this particular passage in the
Sermon on the Mount, gives us the reasons why worry is a waste of
time.
First of all in verse 27, it says, "Who of you by worrying can add a
single hour to his life?" Okay, worry is a waste of time because it
doesn't change anything. I don't think I've ever known anybody who has
ever been able to change their health by worrying about it. Okay,
let's go to verses 28-30. "And why do you worry about clothes? See how
the lilies of the field grow. They don't labor or spin. Did I tell you
that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of
these? If that is how God clothes the grass of the field which is here
today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more
clothe you, oh you of little faith?"
The second reason we shouldn't be worrying is that your Father is
looking out for you. You know what? He doesn't need the bird's help
for them to be taken care of. He doesn't need any help from the
lilies, those gorgeous flowers, to be what they are in the springtime.
And He certainly doesn't need your help to meet your needs. Because
your Father is looking out for you, you really have no need to worry.
The third reason Jesus gives for not worrying is in verse 32. It says,
"The pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows
that you need them." So, thirdly when you worry, you insult God. It's
like saying to your Dad, "Dad, you don't provide for me." It's
insulting His fatherhood to worry, as if somehow He's going to mess
this one up and leave you stranded.
And then in verse 33, there's one more reason not to worry. It says
this: "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these
things will be given to you as well." The fourth reason? Worry
distracts you from the real concerns; the things that really matter.
Get busy with making things like Jesus wants them here on earth. Bring
in His Kingdom; at least be a taste of it in the world around you.
Jesus said, "Each day has enough trouble of its own." We're made only
to handle today. Don't waste energy on tomorrow and get the old ulcer
juices flowing about things that haven't even happened yet. "Your
strength will equal your days." That's what the Bible promises. So,
handle only this 24-hour period, because that's as much strength as
God will give you. His supply lines come through on a 24-hour basis.
When worry comes, get the hook, get it off center stage, and don't run
ahead of your supply lines by worrying into tomorrow. Remember, your
Father has everything under control!

The writer to the Ephesians speaks of *the mystery made known...by
revelation*. And the great wonder proclaimed is the shared inheritance of
Jew and Gentile, slave and free, east and west, all the round earth. We are
all *members of the same body, and sharers in the promise in Christ Jesus
through the gospel*. The light shining from Jesus lets us see how God's
good news is a gift for everyone. The writer goes on to speaks of the *grace
given...to bring...The news of the boundless riches of Christ*. This gift
belongs not only those first Christians, thousands of years ago, it is ours
to share in each new day of our life in faith. And we can do so with
boldness and confidence, because we do it in the light of Christ.
*God of us all, help us to bearers of your light to all the world. We pray
this in the name of Jesus, born for us. Amen. *

Master of Divinity, 1976
*Ephesians 3:1-12* (NRSV)
1 This is the reason that I Paul am a prisoner for Christ Jesus for the
sake of you Gentiles—
2 for surely you have already heard of the commission of God's grace that
was given to me for you,
3 and how the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I wrote above
in a few words,
4 a reading of which will enable you to perceive my understanding of the
mystery of Christ.
5 In former generations this mystery was not made known to humankind, as it
has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit:
6 that is, the Gentiles have become fellow-heirs, members of the same body,
and sharers in the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.
7 Of this gospel I have become a servant according to the gift of God's
grace that was given to me by the working of his power.
8 Although I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given to
me to bring to the Gentiles the news of the boundless riches of Christ,
9 and to make everyone see what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages
in God who created all things;
10 so that through the church the wisdom of God in its rich variety might
now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.
11 This was in accordance with the eternal purpose that he has carried out
in Christ Jesus our Lord,
12 in whom we have access to God in boldness and confidence through faith
in him.

*Joshua*
*The LORD spoke to Joshua... "Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore,
arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am
giving to them..." Joshua 1:1-2 (NKJV) *
*At the edge of the Promised Land, after waiting for forty years to inherit
this territory that God promised to the Children of Israel, the worst
possible thing happens...Moses dies. Put yourself in the shoes of the
average Israelite. Moses was the man who led and guided you your whole
life. Then he dies just as you're about to invade and possess the land. *
*Now imagine you're Joshua. God has given you the responsibility to pick up
where Moses left off. He wants you to lead the people from here on out. If
you've ever been put in the position of having to step up and fill some big
shoes, then you can appreciate what's happening to Joshua here. But as
great as this challenge is, God assures Joshua that he won't have to tackle
it alone. He gives Joshua the guarantee that He'll be with Him just as He
was with Moses. *
*"No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I
was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake
you." Joshua 1:5 (NKJV) *
*Joshua successfully led Israel into the Promised Land. And he was able to
do so because he understood something that we need to understand, as well:
At the end of the day, God being with us is the only thing that truly
matters. Bringing Israel into the land didn't depend on Moses or on any
single individual. It depended on the power of God, and He promised to be
with Joshua just as He'd been with Moses. *
*Align your heart with that truth. Don't be afraid when the Lord calls you
to something that seems larger than life. Remember that if God is with you,
you have everything you need to get the job done. *
*Think About It? What does this passage reveal to me about God? What does
this passage reveal to me about myself? Based on this, what changes do I
need to make? What is my prayer for today?
*

Adopted into the Family of God
"For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but
you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba,
Father." Romans 8:15 Many Christians believe that when they trust
Christ as their Savior, God's work in their life is complete. Our
reconciliation to God and our salvation are complete, but our
spiritual journey, our walk and warfare, and our life as a follower of
Christ have just begun! Paul challenges the Christians to "grow in
grace," to "walk worthy of the Lord," and to study to show themselves
approved unto God, workmen that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing
the Word of truth.
There is much to be done so that we may be strong, steadfast, and
mature in our spiritual life. Paul says, "You were once darkness." The
word "darkness" in the Scriptures implies sin, misery, ignorance,
unsaved, the mind of the unbeliever. He is blind to the things of God,
which must be "spiritually discerned." He has no concept of God as
holy, just, and righteous. He does not know that his heart is totally
alienated from God because of his sin. He has no sense of his need for
salvation because of the blindness of his heart. Unsaved men not only
are in darkness, but also are darkness itself.
Then Paul says "they are now light in the Lord." What happened? "They
turned from darkness unto light, from the power of Satan unto God, the
eyes of their understanding being enlightened." They have been adopted
into the family of God by the power of the Holy Spirit. As children of
our parents, we are the result of the natural process of reproduction.
But one who is adopted is brought into a family wholly by grace. He
shares all the privileges and benefits of the family and is made an
heir to the father's wealth. Notice, it was not because he desired to
be a member of the family, not because he merited adoption, not
because he could obtain such a relationship, but because he has been
adopted into the family ALL BY GRACE! The father did everything
necessary to make him a full member of the family. The father accepted
him AS HIS VERY OWN! What a beautiful picture of our adoption into the
family of God, who has given us a seat at His table.
This thought was brought home strikingly to me several years ago when
I was one of 25 selected guests for a dinner honoring the retirement
of Mr. Charles Haviland, heir and CEO of the Haviland China Co. It was
elegant and classy to the utmost. One prominent couple from France,
Mr. and Mrs. Rothschild, members of one of the wealthiest families in
the world, were close friends of Mr. Haviland. Seats were assigned,
and I was seated next to Mrs. Rothschild--next to wealthy French
royalty! She was a beautiful, charming, and gracious lady, friendly
and engaging in conversation. I felt very honored and somewhat in awe
to be given such a privileged seat.
Then I thought, ONE DAY I'll be seated at the FATHER'S TABLE, next to
the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, because I have been adopted into
the family of God! I am one of His very own! Through adoption, I am an
heir of God and a joint heir with Jesus Christ! All by His grace! The
Father did everything necessary to adopt me and to accept me "in the
Beloved."

True and Lasting Joy
True and Lasting Joy
When we get our minds off the
flesh and ourself,
And we get God's word down from
off the shelf........
When we give Him first place in
all we say and we do,
That's when our joy will begin to
shine through!
If you think you can keep God
hidden and out of sight,
And expect everything to turn out
alright.
Well friend have I got some bad
news for you,
You won't find happiness, not even
a clue!
When you reach out to others who are
in need,
Give God your best and to His word
take heed.
When you give Him control of your
heart and your life,
That's when you'll be rid of all trouble
and strife!
Take a look at yourself and see what
you find,
Is God in control of your heart and
mind?
Have you let your flesh rob you of the
joy you once had?
Give God His due, His joy will make
your heart glad!
You can have His joy back in your
heart and soul,
When you make serving Him your
most important goal!
When you take time for Him and let
Him have His way,
You'll have His joy within you every
moment of every day!
When you walk in God's Spirit and
not in the flesh.......
His joy will be yours and will renew
and refresh!

If you haven't done so, why not ask Jesus to forgive your sins and to
come into your heart to be your Savior and Lord? Just pray the
following prayer: "O God, I am a sinner. I am sorry for my sin and I
am willing to turn from it. I receive Jesus as my Savior; I confess
Him as my Lord. From now on, I want to follow Him in the fellowship
of His Church. In Jesus' name. Amen"

Job 1:9-10
So Satan answered the Lord and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing?
Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around
all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands,
and his possessions have increased in the land."
God's Hedge
Some years ago a group of educators decided to remove the chain-link
fence from around their school's playground. They believed the fence
promoted feelings of confinement and restraint. But then a curious
thing happened. They noticed that as soon as the fence was removed,
the children huddled in the center of the playground to play. Unknown
to the "experts," the children had actually gained a sense of security
from the presence of the fence.
It was this same kind of security that Satan recognized in the life of
Job. Figuratively speaking, God had placed a hedge or fence around Job
and all he possessed to protect him from evil. Job was hemmed in on
all sides by this hedge, but it was not a matter of constraint; it was
a matter of security. He could live confidently, knowing that nothing
could reach him without first going through God's hedge of protection.
Every believer today can have that same assurance. The Bible provides
a first line of defense. The commandments and exhortations that some
people view as divine restrictions are really God's protection plans.
Their purpose is to prevent us from engaging in behavior that will
hurt us. In addition, even the omnipotent hands of God are encircling
our lives. No disaster or calamity can touch us without the permissive
will of our Heavenly Father. Only those things that God knows
ultimately will prove to be for our good are allowed to penetrate this
divine hedge.
So, do not chafe against the restrictions God puts into your life.
They are hedges for your security. Rejoice that God has His arms
underneath you (Deut. 33:27) and His hands behind, before and over you
(Ps. 139:5). You are totally encompassed by His hedge of protection.
Inside God's hedge you are safe!
God's hedges are built for protection, not imprisonment.

Gentle Leading
"I will lead on softly, according as the cattle that goeth before me
and the children be able to endure" (Gen. 33:14).
What a beautiful picture of Jacob's thoughtfulness for the cattle and
the children! He would not allow them to be overdriven even for one
day. He would not lead on according to what a strong man like Esau
could do and expected them to do, but only according to what they were
able to endure. He knew exactly how far they could go in a day; and he
made that his only consideration in arranging the marches. He had gone
the same wilderness journey years before, and knew all about its
roughness and heat and length, by personal experience. And so he said,
"I will lead on softly." "For ye have not passed this way heretofore"
(Josh.3:4.).
We have not passed this way heretofore, but the Lord Jesus has. It is
all untrodden and unknown ground to us, but He knows it all by
personal experience. The steep bits that take away our breath, the
stony bits that make our feet ache so, the hot shadeless stretches
that make us feel so exhausted, the rushing rivers that we have to
pass through--Jesus has gone through it all before us. "He was wearied
with his journey." Not some, but all the many waters went over Him,
and yet did not quench His love. He was made a perfect Leader by the
things which He suffered. "He knoweth our frame; he remembereth that
we are dust." Think of that when you are tempted to question the
gentleness of His leading. He is remembering all the time; and not one
step will He make you take beyond what your foot is able to endure.
Never mind if you think it will not be able for the step that seems to
come next; either He will so strengthen it that it shall be able, or
He will call
a sudden halt, and you shall not have to take it at all. --Frances
Ridley Havergal
In "pastures green"? Not always; sometimes He
Who knowest best, in kindness leadeth me
In weary ways, where heavy shadows be.
So, whether on the hill-tops high and fair
I dwell, or in the sunless valleys, where
The shadows lie, what matter? He is there.

Weariness into Joy
Let all those that seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee; let such as
love Thy salvation say continually, The Lord be magnified.
PSALMS 40:16
Then will I go unto the altar of God; unto God, my exceeding joy.
PSALMS 43:4
WE doubt the word that tells us: Ask,
And ye shall have your prayer;
We turn our thoughts as to a task,
With will constrained and rare.
And yet we have; these scanty prayers
Yield gold without alloy;
O God, but he who trusts and dares
Must have a boundless joy!

TELL them that, until religion cease to be a burden, it is
nothing,--until prayer cease to be a weariness, it is nothing. However
difficult and however imperfect, the spirit must still rejoice in it.
EDWARD IRVING
From a weary laborer, worn with slavish and ineffectual toil, I had
become as a little child receiving from God the free gift of eternal
life and of daily sustenance; and prayer, from a weary spiritual
exercise, had become the simple asking from the Heavenly Father of
daily bread, and thanking Him.

All of Grace
Ephesians 2:1-10
God dealt in judgment at Babel when He scattered the people and
confused their language, but God dealt in mercy and grace as He called
Abraham.
Abraham did not receive God's call because he merited God's esteem.
Rather, in God's foreknowledge He knew Abraham and chose him for a
special purpose.
God's election must always be traced to God's will and purpose. It is
all of grace, for it is by God's sovereign choice. It is the same with
our salvation. If it were not for God's grace, we would be doomed to
an eternity in hell.
But notice what God has done because of His grace: "But God, who is
rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we
were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace
ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit
together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus" (Eph. 2:4-6).
God did not do this for us because we merited it--it was while we were
yet sinners that Christ died for us. It is important that we realize
that our salvation is all of grace.
Abraham was not chosen because he was a special kind of person nor
because he had a high IQ nor because he had great faith. It was
totally of the grace of God that He called Abraham out of idolatry,
and it is only of the grace of God that we have been called out to
salvation.
"But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound" (Rom. 5:20).

Satan's Imitators
Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water;
and thou shalt stand by the river's brink against he come; and the rod
which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand.
Of all the brother teams in the Old Testament, Cain and Abel, Jacob
and Esau, Hophni and Phinehas, etc., perhaps none was so outstanding
as Moses and Aaron. Together they were called upon to undertake the
impossible dream--the exodus of Israel from Egypt. Jehovah had made
Moses a god to Pharaoh and brother Aaron was his prophet. As a team
they stood before the Egyptian king and demanded the release of God's
people Israel.
During the new kingdom period the power of Pharaoh was unsurpassed
among contemporary nations. At times his kingdom extended as far as
the Euphrates River. For Moses and Aaron to appear at the royal
Egyptian court demanding that the people of Israel be set free was a
challenge to Pharaoh's power. From the start the king's attitude was
one of arrogant defiance. Pharaoh said, "Who is the LORD, that I
should obey His voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither
will I let Israel go"(Exodus 5:2).
But the Lord had forewarned Moses and Aaron of Pharaoh's attitude,
informing them that when the king asked for a miracle to prove God's
power they should cast Aaron's rod to the ground and it would become a
serpent. When Pharaoh questioned them, Aaron obeyed God and, as God
had promised, the rod miraculously became a serpent. However, much to
the surprise of Moses and Aaron, the king of Egypt called upon his
wise men sorcerers to do the same and their rods too became serpents.
Apparently these Egyptian magicians knew the secret of paralyzing a
snake by applying pressure on the back of the neck. This would make
the serpent become rigid and the pompous Egyptian sorcerers would
stroll along the streets using the paralyzed snakes as walking sticks.
When they cast the snake to the ground, releasing the pressure, the
snake would begin to crawl. Capturing the snake was a simple matter of
grabbing it by the back of the neck, renewing the pressure, and making
the serpent rigid again.
Such was the case in the contest between Moses and Aaron and the
magicians of Pharaoh's court. However, as the Egyptians imitated the
miracle of God they did not have opportunity to grab the serpents by
the back of the neck and reapply the pressure. Before they could do so
Aaron's rod-serpent swallowed them up.
Rather than be stunned by the defeat of his magicians, Pharaoh's heart
was hardened. Thus the Lord instructed Moses to "Get thee unto Pharaoh
in the morning" and to demand that the people of Israel be released
(Exodus 7:15). Early the next morning the confrontation took place and
as a result of Pharaoh's refusal the Nile River, long worshiped by the
Egyptians, turned to blood. Thus began the great plagues of Egypt.
Although in the first two plagues God allowed the Egyptian magicians
to imitate His miracles, by the third one they had run out of tricks.
Candidly they had to admit to Pharaoh, "This is the finger of God"
(Exodus 8:19). This did not end imitations of God's power, however,
for Satan is the great imitator of God. He has been imitating God
through the centuries, and many have been deceived by some clever
counterfeits which seem to be of God, but actually are of the devil.
Today the world is deluged with deception. Satan is on a rampage
imitating the acts of God. This is why Christians are cautioned to
"Believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of
God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world" (1 John
4:1). Moses and Aaron were not fooled or intimidated by the imitation
miracles of the Egyptian magicians. Believers today must not be fooled
or intimidated by the power of Satan, "because greater is He that is
in you, than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4).
MORNING HYMN
Thy Holy Spirit, Lord, alone,
Can turn our hearts from sin;
His pow'r alone can sanctify,
And keep us pure within.

The Bread of Tears
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them;
because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. --I
John 4:4, NASB
Years ago my missionary-friend Gesina was thrown into a
communist prison in the Balkans because they caught her with Christian
literature in the trunk of her car. Sitting in that pitch black cell,
surrounded by a sickening stench with filth and trash on the floor
that she couldn't even see, she suddenly thought of a verse of
Scripture. That very morning, she had read Psalm 80:5 in her quiet
time: "You have fed them with the bread of tears."
The verse came back strongly to her heart in that dark
moment, but-it wasn't particularly comforting in her present
circumstances! Frightened and overwhelmed, she had no idea if her
friends would realize what had happened to her. Just then, the jailer
opened the small food door and shoved through a stick of salami and a
chunk of bread. Frustrated that she couldn't even set the meat down on
the dirty floor in order to tear off a piece of bread, she began to
cry. Without thinking, she wiped her tears with the chunk of bread.
And suddenly the verse she had read that morning flashed before her.
She laughed out loud. God knew! He hadn't forgotten her! She could eat
her tear-soaked bread knowing that he had specifically given it to
her. She didn't mind being fed the bread of tears if it had come
straight from his hand.
Today, Gesina has a marvelous ministry among the disabled
in Albania. And to the end of her days, she will remember how-in the
worst and darkest of circumstances-God came near and reminded her of
his constant presence and care.
Whatever your circumstances, difficult as they may be,
remember: God knows precisely where you are and how to care for you.
Oh Lord Jesus, what joy this brings! Because you live
within my very spirit, nothing but nothing in life can truly defeat
me.
Blessings,
Joni and Friends
