*How's your heart? *
*
The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that
every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.
The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was
filled with pain.
Genesis 6:5,6 NIV

*A little peace of mind... *
*At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and
revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good
pleasure. "All things have been committed to Me by my Father. No one knows
the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and
those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him. *
*"Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in
heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my
burden is light." *

*So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart
of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with
one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against
anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these
things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. *
*Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were
called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell
within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with
psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thank- fulness in your
hearts to God. Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the
Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. *

Faith's Check Book, Daily Entry
C. H. Spurgeon
December 10
God Is Our Ally
But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then
I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine
adversaries. (Exodus 23:22)
The Lord Christ in the midst of His people is to be acknowledged and
obeyed. He is the vice-regent of God and speaks in the Father's name,
and it is ours implicitly and immediately to do as He commands. We
shall lose the promise if we disregard the precept.
To full obedience how large the blessing! The Lord enters into a
league with His people, offensive and defensive. He will bless those
who bless us and curse those who curse us. God will go heart and soul
with His people and enter in deepest sympathy into their position.
What a protection this affords us! We need not concern ourselves about
our adversaries when we are assured that they have become the
adversaries of God. If Jehovah has taken up our quarrel, we may leave
the foemen in His hands.
So far as our own interest is concerned we have no enemies; but for
the cause of truth and righteousness we take up arms and go forth to
conflict. In this sacred war we are allied with the eternal God, and
if we carefully obey the law of our Lord Jesus, He is engaged to put
forth all His power on our behalf. Wherefore we fear no man.
As the body without the spirit is dead,
so faith without deeds is dead.

*Daily Devotional
* Betty Miller shares her daily devotionals which are based
on the book of Proverbs in the Bible.* * * The Wisdom of God*
*Verses for the Day:
Proverbs 19:19-20(KJV):
19 A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him,
yet thou must do it again.
20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy
latter end.
Proverbs 19:19-20(NIV):
19 A man of great wrath shall suffer the penalty, for if you deliver him
(from the consequences), he will (feel free to) cause you to do it again.
20 Hear counsel, receive instruction and accept correction, that you may be
wise in the time to come. *
*Thoughts for the Day:*
Timely advice is given in these *verses* from the book of *Proverbs*.* *They
state that wisdom is gained by the instruction and counsel of the
Lord. In*verse 19
*, advice is given for those who would try to help those who have unruly
tempers. We are told that trying to help a person who has great wrath is a
futile attempt. Anyone who is habitually angry will repeat his offenses
and one would have to repeat the process of delivering him. Until a person
is ready to change his ways and repent of his anger, he can never be free
from an ingrained bad temper. Only the Lord can help a man like that. We
have seen this with parents who pay the fines of an angry, rebellious son,
who end up in jail for some misdeed caused by his anger. Unless they
discipline and correct him, they will usually face the same problem again.
I remember a time when a young girl, who was a friend of ours, called us in
desperation. She wanted us to help her boyfriend who had just been jailed
for lack of paying his traffic fines. It only took $75.00 to get him out of
jail and since we cared for her, we went down to the jail to facilitate his
release. We paid his fine and waited for the jailer to bring him out, so
we could give him a ride home since he would not be able to drive for a
season. We were absolutely shocked when the jailer brought him to meet us,
as he began cursing the policemen, the jailer and the system. He did not
bother to slow down his rebellious speech and even thank us for helping
him. He was just set on cursing the system. We immediately took him by
the arm and told him to be quiet as we dragged him quickly out of there
before they arrested him again.
We learned something, just from observing his behavior. Anger and
rebellion are in the heart of a man and just because you try to help him
and be kind to him does not mean he will change his behavior. He must be
willing to change before you can help him, just as this verse says, *if you
deliver an angry man, you will have to do it again*. It was not long until
this same person was back in jail, this time for violating his driving
restrictions. The only way we tried to help him the next time was to pray
for him to come to the end of his rebellion so he truly could be helped.
*Verse 20 *tells us the way to change is to listen to counsel and receive
instruction. If we do that we will be wise in the time to come. Biblical
instruction will keep us from destruction and error if we heed it. The
keeping of God's Word will bring great reward. God's laws and commandments
are given so that we might live a good life in this earth.
*Psalm 19:7-11:
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the
LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment
of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the
LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter
also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is
great reward.*
*Prayer for the Day:*
*Dear Heavenly Father, We thank you that You have given us the Bible so
that we might receive godly wisdom and learn how to live by it. Lord, we
know that by following Your advice, we will be saved from much heartache in
this world. Help us to walk in the Spirit so that we will have Your
discernment as to the things we should, and should not do. Guide us by
Your Holy Spirit in all of our affairs. Help us to overcome any tendencies
toward anger, as we do not want to become angry men and women. Let us be
gentle and forgiving in our dealings with others. We ask this in the name
of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen*

December 10
Psalm 144:3
Lord, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! Or the son of
man, that thou makest account of him!
Ricky walked home from school past the front of the church. He noticed
that the nativity scene had been set up, so he stopped long enough to
check it out. All of the figures towered above him, but one in
particular caught his eye. An angel looked down from the roof of the
creche, and Ricky thought it was looking right at him. He thought to
himself, "I wonder if real angels are watching me right now? I wonder
if God is?" Ricky left the nativity scene in awe, thinking maybe he
was being watched over, and the thought filled him with joy.
Though we cannot fathom why God would love us so much, He does indeed
watch over us. He knows all our movements and thoughts, and He cares
deeply about the things we face in life. Know that the Lord is mindful
of you, and be glad. In God's sight you are precious.
Prayer: Watch over me, Lord. Thank You for making me important by
loving me so much. I am a new person in Your love. Use me to spread
Your joy. Amen.

Today is a day that the Lord has made therefore, rejoice and be glad
in it and how can one be glad if his heart is not with Me. I have
come that you might have life and have it more abundantly. I come
that I might spread love from heart to heart and breast to breast. I
come to seek and save all that are lost and bring them to the heavenly
Father for all were orphans and without Father or Mother who have not
received Me into their hearts and even the soul. I AM always near
unto My children seeking to draw them into a deeper and more personal
relationship with Me. satan has come to seek and destroy all that he
can and he is the divider of My people. He comes to the congregation
of the saints but not to worship but to stop the flow of the Holy
Spirit for he has no time for Me neither those that are mine but to
keep them from receiving the joy that they can only receive through
the Holy Spirit. Let him not rob you of the love that I would have
you to have for Me neither one another. You may not always agree, but
you should always bear the love of God in your hearts one for the
other. My people have no reason to hate others nor to cause discord
among the brotherhood. Let the Holy Spirit lift your heart to a place
of praise and worship at all times and there would be no reason for
division or discord. I know that the season of Christmas is a time
for discord and divisions among many. I AM not the one that ordained
Christmas, but I AM He who was born the babe near Bethlehem in which
men have chosen to honor but many honor the season but not Me. Many
are so taken up with Christmas that I AM completely forgotten and this
was not what Christmas was ordained to be. Many are against the
season but not against Me. How My people love to judge one another and
this should not be so. Some even look upon others as being
step-children of their heavenly Father. You are a divided people, but
I say unto you, if you love Me with all your heart you shall love Me
no less one day than another and Christ should be your reason for
every season and every day that you dwell in the flesh for He is your
Savior and Redeemer. If you have not come to Me in the free pardon of
sin then you are not mine and are still as orphans of faith and your
faith will not stand for many are trusting their own good works and
Church rituals for your salvation but they have no merit to save you
for only the blood that the babe of Bethlehem brought into the world
can cleanse a sinner from His sins and no other blood is sufficient
for the blood line of Christ flowed from the blood streams of His
Father and through Him alone is your salvation secure. Without Christ
there is no Christmas and the gift of the Holy Spirit is the greatest
treasure that could be bestowed unto mankind. The blood of Christ was
shed for every sinner and is still sufficient for the cleansing of the
most vilest sins ever committed. When you behold others behold them
as one that God loved so much that He sent His most precious
possession to die and give His life a ransom for. I say unto all,
seek to love God and others as God loved us. No matter who you are or
where you are God loves you with all His heart and you are indeed
precious in His sight.

Adding Muscle to Our Prayers
When you received the Word of God...you accepted it not as
the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at
work in you who believe. --I Thessalonians 2:13
Our flight was late, and the seats in the waiting area of
gate D-7 were full. Judy and Bunny stood beside me to pray-something
we often do before flights. Bunny knew I needed a prayer lift. She
knew I was pretty down over a number of things, including the sad news
that a certain foundation had just turned down our funding request for
a project to help disabled children.
Bunny reached for our hands, and, after praise and
thanksgiving, said, "Lord, send forth the corn and the wine and the
oil. Send forth the early rains, the late rains, and produce a
wonderful crop of blessings." Her voice was soft, yet laced with
confidence. I recognized in her prayer strains of Joel 2:19.
As we prayed, I felt the presence of a fourth and fifth
person. A husband and wife, who had crowded close -- together they
punctuated Bunny's prayer with "Amens." When we finished, the husband
folded a hundred dollar bill into Bunny's hand, and they rushed off to
catch their flight. You know... it didn't really surprise me. When
Bunny prays, things happen. "Joni," she said, tucking the bill into my
coat pocket, "this is the first fruits of what God will supply." Bunny
has learned how to pray using God's own words, from the Bible. It's a
way of using God's language when we talk to him-his dialect, so to
speak. The Bible tells us there are two things God honors and exalts
above all else: his name and his Word. Prayer which is spiced with his
Word is exalted prayer. And it is powerful.
As you read the Scriptures, underline portions that speak
to your heart, make them personal, and then pray them back to God.
Father, teach me to pray in the way that pleases you and
touches your great heart.
Blessings,

Today's Promise from the Bible
Matthew 6:14
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also
forgive you:
Reflection
The tremendous depth of mercy and grace of our Heavenly Father should
cause us to be forgiving of others.
My Prayer: Thank You for Your abundant forgiveness for my many
transgressions against You! Help me to have the same forgiving heart
toward others around me. Cause me to see them through Your loving eyes
and not my own. Make me more like you in every aspect!

Exposing Fruitless Deeds
Ephesians 5:11-14 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of
darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention
what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light
becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible.
We should no longer tolerate sinful deeds among us, especially among
those who claim to be believers. We should call a spade a spade. If
we are children of the light, we should make these things visible.

The Ark Analogy
Third, the church is depicted as an ark on the flood waters. As the
ark of Noah floated on the waters and contained all who would be
salvaged, so the church of Jesus Christ is an ark on the flood waters
and contains all who will be salvaged. Remember that! All in the ark
are saved, and all outside the ark perish. All around us is a
perishing world, and we float on top of it in a little ark called the
church. All that are not in the church--the ark--will perish. You say,
"Now hold on a minute. Do you mean to say that if you don't join the
Avenue Road Church, you will be lost?" No, but what I do say is that
the church is the ark containing the ransomed, and inside the ark is
life. Outside the living church of Christ are the lost. Inside are the
saved. You are not saved by joining a church, which is a mistake local
churches make. The animals all came into Noah's ark by the door.
Christ is the door to the church, and whoever will be saved must come
in by the door. There is no other ark on the flood. Suppose someone
said, "Well, hold on a minute. Don't be so narrow-minded. Let's be
tolerant. We do not want to get in Noah's ark; we want an ark of our
own." Well, there weren't any other arks on the flood. It was either
get into Noah's ark or perish. A few got into Noah's ark, and God
preserved the race. In the church of Christ, God is salvaging a small
number from the flood. A fatal error is the independent life--to say
that you are a Christian, but you don't associate with any churches.
You are a Christian, but you don't feel the necessity to join a
church. It is true that there are hypocrites in the church--not in the
true church, but in the local assembly. Even Jesus had His Judas. The
local assembly and the true church of Christ are sometimes not
synonymous.
Verse
If [God] did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on
its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness,
and seven others; . . . if this is so, then the Lord knows how to
rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unri 2 Peter 2:5,9
Thought
While the ark is not used as an explicit image of the Church, a number
of references are found in the New Testament suggesting a typological
analogy. The Church is the only ark in the flood of judgment and
Christ is the only way to get on board.
Prayer
How good, Lord, to be part of Your Church in the turbulent world sea.
'In a love which cannot cease, I am His and He is mine.'

According to your faith be it unto you (Matthew 9:29), was Christ's
great law of healing and blessing in His earthly ministry. This was
what He meant when He said, With what measure ye mete, it shall be
measured to you again (Matthew 7:2). These mighty measures are limited
by the measures that we bring. God deals out His heavenly treasures to
us in these glorious vessels, but each of us must bring our drinking
cup and according to its measure we shall be filled.
But even the measure of our faith may be a divine one. Thank God, the
little cup has become enlarged through the grace of Jesus until from
its bottom there flows a pipe into the great ocean. And if that
connection is kept open we shall find that our cup is as large as the
ocean and never can be drained to the bottom. Jesus has said to us,
literally, "Have the faith of God , and surely this is a limitless
measure.
Let us claim the mighty promise,
Let us light the torches dim;
Let us join the glorious chorus,
Nothing is too hard for Him.

Draw Near to God
"It is good for me to draw near to God." Psalm 73:28
In drawing near to God, all of life comes into perspective. Developing
a close relationship with our Father makes all the difference in the
world. Trials are easier to bear when the arms of our Father surround
us. Questions come into focus when we share them with the God who
knows the end from the beginning. All the heartaches of this earth
melt away when we spend time in the Father's presence and He reveals
His will to us. There is nothing but good that comes from drawing near
to God, because His Word tells us that when we draw near to Him, He
will draw near to us. An intimate relationship with our Father will be
the result of drawing near to Him. We will have a sanctuary where we
can go when the storms of life hit. We will have a place in which to
take refuge. We will have a quiet place where we can hear His still
small voice speak to us, giving us direction and comfort. Draw near to
God today and experience the wonder of His presence.
Father, surely it has been good for me to draw near to You. Good seems
like such an inadequate word to describe the benefits of what I have
gained by spending time with You. Thank You for always waiting with
open arms for me to come to You. Thank You for Your patience and Your
grace. Help us to experience Your love more and more each day as we
draw near to You. Amen

What Friends Do"A friend loves you all the time." Proverbs 17:17
One gets the impression that to John, Jesus was above all a loyal
companion. Messiah? Yes. Son of God? Indeed. Miracle worker?
That, too. But more than anything Jesus was a pal. Someone you could
go camping with or bowling with or count the stars with…
Now what do you do with a friend? (Well, that's rather simple too.)
You stick by him.
Maybe that is why John is the only one of the twelve who was at the
cross. He came to say good-bye. By his own admission he hadn't quite
put the pieces together yet. But that didn't really matter. As far
as he was concerned, his closest friend was in trouble and he came to
help.
"Can you take care of my mother?"
Of course. That's what friends are for.

Romans 14:17
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and
peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Joan's doctor had told her to make a list of what was really important
to her. Her husband and children headed the list. Her health was next,
then her pets. She also wrote down her mother's ring and some
furniture that her father had made when he was a young man. Her doctor
asked her if she wanted to lose all that was on the list, and she told
him 'Of course not!' He told her that she had to lose weight or she
wouldn't be around long to enjoy the things she truly loved. If those
things were really more important to her than food, then she was going
to have to prove it. She asked God for help and then set her mind
toward losing weight.
Today's thought: Compared to the truly important things in life, food
is pretty pathetic!

I thought this was so neat. Enjoy! EAT LOTS OF SWEET POTATOES
It's been said that God first separated the salt water from the fresh,
made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and fish... All before
making a human. He made and provided what we'd need before we were
born. These are best & more powerful when eaten raw. We're such
slow learners...
God left us a great clue as to what foods help what part of our
body!
God's Pharmacy! Amazing!
A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and
radiating lines look just like the human eye... And YES, science now
shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the
eyes.
A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers
and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with
lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.
Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape
looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are
also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.
A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere,
upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on
the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop
more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.
Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes,
they look exactly like the human kidneys.
Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These
foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and
these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your
diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These
foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.
Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the
womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs.
Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it
balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical
cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months
to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over
14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of
these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of
them).
Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase
the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well
to overcome male sterility.
Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the
glycemic index of diabetics.
Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries
Oranges, Grapefruits, and other Citrus fruits look just like the
mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the
breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.
Onions look like the body's cells. Today's research shows onions help
clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce
tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working
companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous
free radicals from the body.
Please don't break this even if you only send it to one person. Look
at the date when this was started. Thanks

**Read Ahead: *Isaiah 59:14-20
*He saw that there was no man--He was amazed that there was no one
interceding. Isaiah 59:16, HCSB*
It never hurts to run a pronoun check on yourself when you pray. What's a
pronoun check? It's when you check to see how often the words I and me come
up in your prayer, compared to you, he, she, and they. If you find your
prayers are heavy on the first person and light on the second and third
persons, you'll want to adjust the way you pray.
That's because prayer is much more than asking for things. It's thanking
God for what he's already given you and praising him for who he is. That's
where the you comes in.
Prayer is also your opportunity to intercede on behalf of other people--the
he's, she's and they's in your world. As you pray, think about your family,
friends, classmates, and coworkers. If you're sensitive, the Holy Spirit
will prompt you to pray specifically for several individuals.
Isaiah spoke of a nation that was disobeying God. Yet in his mercy, God
looked for one faithful person who would intervene and pray for Israel. If
he could find just one believer lifting up the nation in prayer, he would
have reason to withhold his judgment. Sadly, there wasn't even one
intercessor.
Be sure your prayer circle includes more people than just you and God. Be
sensitive to the needs around you, and be faithful to pray for others as
God leads you.
Why would God show mercy to someone because of your prayers?

What does it mean to testify to the light? Do we think of ourselves as
witnesses to the light which shines in the darkness? Into the bleakness of
winter will soon come the light of the world. In this time of anticipation,
perhaps we can imagine that our welcome for the Word made flesh might be
where and how we can shine the light of God's presence into the shadows of
our human brokenness, bringing good news to the oppressed, binding up the
brokenhearted, proclaiming liberty to the captives, and releasing those
imprisoned to freedom.
*God of light, where darkness persists, may our light shine so that others
might see your love and know your saving grace for all the world. Amen. *

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 He came as a witness to testify to the light, so that all might believe

8 He himself was not the light, but he came to testify to the light.
*Isaiah 61:1-4*
1 The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me;
he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the
broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the
prisoners;
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor, and the day of vengeance of our
God; to comfort all who mourn;
3 to provide for those who mourn in Zion— to give them a garland instead of
ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise
instead of a faint spirit. They will be called oaks of righteousness, the

*Don't Lose Hope*
*Jeremiah 29:10-11, NIV: "This is what the LORD says: 'When seventy years
are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my gracious
promise to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for
you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans
to give you hope and a future.'"*
*We are, within periods of our lives, held captive. We may be imprisoned by
choices we have made, habits we cannot kick, or external circumstances over
which we have no control. Perhaps, the best news we could hear is that all
will be well tomorrow. To Israel, The Lord spoke of seventy years to be
completed before they would be freed. Those words could not have provided
much comfort to Israeli exiles. For us, as well, all things must be in
accordance with God's time, and the proper amount of time must be
completed. During such times, the best thing we can do is to stay the
course--continue in the way of Christ. A day will come when the time of
captivity is over. As for the meantime, take comfort. Don't give up. And
keep your eyes on Christ. For most assuredly, the Lord has plans for you;
"plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a
future."*

A NEW SONG
"He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will
see and fear and put their trust in the LORD." Psalm 40:3How blessed
to see and hear the words of praise from those who have been
wonderfully delivered from the entanglements and bondage of sin. There
is a refreshing glow in their countenance, a sparkle in their eyes, a
triumphant sound in their voice and a transformation in their life.
This is not something they have conjured up themselves; this is the
mighty work of God's grace in their life that has set them free from
the penalty of sin and brought them into the family of God.
David had this experience when he meditated on the love of God that
embraced his life. He could not adequately express the floodgates that
burst open in his soul. He said, "Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my
innermost being, praise his holy name" (Psalm 103:1). He continued
verse after verse seeking to express what he could not contain of the
joy of the Lord that possessed his whole being.
Such is the testimony of those who have been awakened to their great
need of God's redeeming grace and found their deliverance at the foot
of the cross. This is but the "beginning" of all God wants to do in
and through us. Jesus said, "I have come that they might have life,
and have it to the full" (John 10:10). God puts within the heart and
life a "new song" of those who have been reconciled to Him. This is a
song of salvation, a release from the bondage of sin, and the liberty
and freedom they have not known before. They are now children of the
King, held in the mighty hand of God forever!
This "new song" is a song of praise and thanksgiving to the Lord that
shall ring forth, not only in word but also in life, as we dare to
walk in the light of God's presence. It is a triumphant song that
consumed Paul even amidst the persecutions, distress and trials that
he encountered constantly. There is never a word of self-pity or
complaint from Paul but only that "song of triumphant" that was his in
Christ. After being denied by God with the taking away of his thorn in
the flesh, God said, "My grace is sufficient for thee." To this Paul
replied, "I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so
that the power of Christ may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's
sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in
persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, them am I strong."
(2 Corinthians 12:9-10). Paul knew about this "new song." It resounded
everywhere he went and in everything he did. He lived it! It was the
embedded mark of
his identification w! ith Christ.
Look what he said in 2 Corinthians 2:14, "Thanks be unto God, who
always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us
spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him." Only God
can give such a song of triumph. May it ring loud and clear from our
heart and be seen in our life. What is the result of such a radiant
relationship with Christ? The psalmist said, "Many shall see and hear
and shall trust in the Lord" (Psalm 40:3-4).
The life the Holy Spirit possesses will be effective and fruitful to
the glory of God. Others, both saved and unsaved, will be impacted by
the love of God flowing through such a life. People will see Christ's
life being lived out and they will trust the Lord for salvation. The
believer also will be challenged to surrender his life to the lordship
of Christ. A "new song" should ring forth in the life of every
believer to God's praise and glory! I trust it is evident in your
life. If not, it can be when you give to the Lord His right to rule on
the throne of your heart. Your life will be transformed by His mighty
power! Dare to trust!
