Dear supporter of Awakening Heart,
Instead of a Day of Mindfulness retreat this Saturday, April 17, I
have decided to host a Volunteer Work Retreat instead (there will
definitely also be one on May 1, and possibly May 8 as well).
So, please come to any or all of the following this Saturday:
1) 9:00-10:30 am -- Chanting Meditation Service at the Dallas
Buddhist Association (Amitabha House), 515 Apollo Road, Richardson, TX
75081. This is a VERY POWERFUL experience of chanting "Amitabha"
(Infinite Light) while walking, chanting while sitting, and short
silence. It goes by very quickly, and you will feel uplifted to
Heaven (the Pure Land of the Buddha).
2) 10:45-11:45 am -- Brunch at Veggie Garden Restaurant, 510 W.
Arapaho Rd., Richardson, TX 75080.
3) 12:00 noon - 5:00 pm -- Volunteer Work Retreat (visioning,
brainstorming ideas, painting, putting in wood flooring, cleaning,
decorating, FUN community-building, feng shui, volunteer-coordinating,
etc.) at the site of the future home of the DALLAS MEDITATION CENTER,
727 S, Floyd Rd., Richardson, TX 75080. Come for the whole time
(preferrably) or part of the time. If you have a truck, bring it.
This will be a FUN volunteer work retreat! :-)
