A Father's Blessing

by Dick Innes

"Joseph said to his father, "They are my sons, whom God has given me in this
place." And he said, "Please bring them to me, and I will bless them"
(Genesis 48:9, NIV).

Working with people in support groups over a number of years it amazed me
how many participants-both men and women-had a father issue. That is, they
felt that their father was never or rarely involved in their life either
physically and/or emotionally when they were a child and/or a teenager. All
of these people have a deep father wound because they never received their
father's affirmation or blessing.

Popular author and psychologist, Gary Smalley, lists some key answers
received after asking one hundred people how they knew that they had
received their father's blessing. Following are some of the answers he
received:

1. "My father would put his arm around me at church and let me lay my head
on his shoulder."

2. "When my father was facing being transferred at work, he purposely took
another job so that I could finish my senior year in high school at the same
school."

3. "When I wrecked my parent's car, my father's first reaction was to hug me
and let me cry instead of yelling at me."

4. "When I was thirteen, my dad trusted me to use his favorite hunting rifle
when I was invited to go hunting with a friend and his father.

5. "My father went with me when I had to take back an ugly dress a
saleswoman had talked me into buying."

6. "My father would let me practice pitching to him for a long time when he
got home from work."

7. "Even though I had never seen him cry before, my father cried during my
wedding because he was going to miss me no longer being at home."

For those of us who have had or still have an unresolved father issue we
know the pain of missing out on our father's blessing. For fathers of
children/teens who are reading this article, I trust you will realize the
crucial role you play in the emotional and spiritual development of your
children. With your blessing they have a much greater chance of having a
fulfilling life and a healthy marriage and family life. Without your
blessing they may, like millions of others, spend the rest of their life
seeking love in all the wrong ways and places albeit in an unconscious and
desperate attempt to fill the empty place in their heart caused by a lack of
their father's blessing and their subsequent father wound.

Suggested prayer (if you have a father wound): "Dear God, thank you for
helping me to see that I never received my father's blessing. Please lead me
to the help I need for the healing and recovery of my father wound. (If you
are a father): Please help me to be the father my children need so they
will know without a shadow of a doubt that they have my full blessing. Thank
you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, in Jesus' name, amen."

Wednesday of the Twenty-Second Week in Ordinary Time

I will thank you always for what you have done, and proclaim the
goodness of your name before your faithful ones. (Psalm 52:11)

After Jesus left the synagogue, he entered the house of Simon. Simon's
mother-in-law was afflicted with a severe fever, and they interceded
with him about her. He stood over her, rebuked the fever, and it left
her. She got up immediately and waited on them. At sunset, all who had
people sick with various diseases brought them to him. He laid his
hands on each of them and cured them… At daybreak, Jesus left and went
to a deserted place. The crowds went looking for him, and when they
came to him, they tried to prevent him from leaving them. But he said
to them, "To the other towns also I must proclaim the good news of the
Kingdom of God, because for this purpose I have been sent." And he was
preaching in the synagogues of Judea. (Luke 4:38-40, 42-44)

Piety

Christ has no body but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,

Study

A couple of years ago, a co-worker was online trying to decide which
cell phone to purchase. She got me to look at the Internet ads with
her. I laughed, because one company was trying to entice would-be
buyers by advertising "It's all about you." I said, "It's a good thing
the teenage girls in our families aren't looking at this. They'd be
hooked!" We live in a me-centered culture, where we are fed messages
24/7 that "it's all about us" and that everything centers around us
and our desires.

Sometimes we even carry that attitude over into our faith lives. One
of my friends told me recently that she stopped going to church. She
said she doesn't need to worship with others, because, after all, it's
really just about Jesus and her. She said he's her personal Savior and
that's all she needs. No concept of what it means to be part of the
Body of Christ in the world. No recollection that the two greatest
commandments are about showing love to our neighbors as well as loving
God above all else.

The main problem with my friend's stance is it doesn't jive with the
Scriptures. Nowhere in the Gospels does it say it's all about us or
that we get to hoard Jesus all to ourselves. In fact, when the
villagers in today's reading from Luke's Gospel try to keep Jesus from
leaving and going on to other towns, he tells them that he was
expressly sent to proclaim the Kingdom of God and he has to keep on
going and preach the Good News to as many people as possible.

When Jesus touches your life, you don't get to hold the experience to
yourself and just bask in the glow. In the beginning of today's Gospel
passage, Jesus goes to Simon's house, where his mother-in-law is very
sick with a high fever. He heals her, but she doesn't then lie in bed
savoring the experience. Jesus has touched her and, in so doing, has
empowered her to serve in his name. She gets up from her sickbed and
has the well-being and vitality to serve the Lord and her other
guests.

The psalmist shows us the paradigm for life: "I will thank you always
for what you have done, and proclaim the goodness of your name before
your faithful ones." God touches our lives in many wonderful ways and
we, in turn, are to proclaim the goodness of his name to our our
brothers and sisters.

Since beginning this work I've experienced many forms of energetic wave,
from timewaves to consciousness-return waves to CME waves. . and so forth. This
morning I felt the first Creational Wave of the alignment with Galactic
Center and the Central Universe. Just wiped me out. I will write more about
it when I get time but right now sharing it with a few people such as Helen
in Australia I get people feeling the same way .

I have been light headed and dizzy, even leaning to the left when I get up
off a chair.

After sharing my own message from Guidance about not being available after
September 20 in order to get my 'safe place' in order, that very same day
Stan and Holly Deo's shared a similar message, the Ramtha school suggested
things may be different after September and they may not be in contact, and
then this morning Ken Carey came out of hibernation in order to say he
believes this is the time as well. Helen has already shared Nostradamus'
thoughts about the coming months and he agrees something major is about to
happen, not the end thingy but something major enough to shift tectonic
plates with the resulting upheavals all over the planet (and Creation).
Everyone's beginning to sense something about the remaining months of this
year. Just circle Oct. 21 to be in your safe place no matter what. What
have you got to lose? Other's won't get 45 mins warning to 'bug out' so most
of them will not survive, and most of them aren't supposed to survive.

Last night Guidance was trying to tell me about the importance of our DNA in
all this but I was a little too tired to figure it all out. of course it's
one of the biggest topics written about in the 850 articles on my website
for DNA is the Light and Sound processor for dimensional attunement so
nothing is more important now than having someone check on the sovereignty
of your DNA. Everything the New World Order has been experimenting with and
spraying us with (chemtrails) and putting in our food supply is all meant to
damage the DNA from regaining its 12-strand multi-dimensional capability.
All of this before the radiation levels on the planet grew exponentially
from events such as Fukushima. Even the Highest Beings on the planet have
been subject to at least a part of this damaging influence and need to
regain their earned level of awareness and make sure their tuned up for the
next set of events to raise the entire consciousness of the planet and take
a long those capable of maintaining such a level.

Guidance will have me write more as it is become pertinent.

Vishva Shanti Maha Yajna
Zeashta Devi Shrine,Srinagar, Kashmir
September 01-10, 2011

With the blessings of their Holinesses the Shankaracharya-s of
Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, a Vishva Shanti
Maha Yajna is being organized in the Zeashta Devi Shrine premises at
Srinagar, Kashmir from September 1st to 10th, 2011.

This Vishva Shanti Maha Yajna is being performed for the welfare
of one and all by learned Vedic scholars from South India. First
Ganapati Havan will be done for removal of all obstacles. Then Rig
Veda Havan will be done by chanting 10,552 mantra-s of the Rig Veda,
each with their own unique Rishi (sage who discovered the mantra),
Chandas (poetic metre) and Devata (deity). This havan has been
directly prescribed in the Rig Veda:

?? ?????? ? ??? ?? ?? ????? ???? ??? ?????? (?? ???? ?-??-?)

Each syllable in the Veda mantra-s has beneficial effects of its
own, and 3,97,264 (almost four lakh) syllables of the Rig Veda will be
chanted in the course of this havan. At the end, tarpana(oblations of
milk) will be offered to all the Rishi-s and Devata-s of the Rig Veda.
Likewise, chanting of Yajur Veda and Sama Veda is also arranged for.
There will also be Gayatri Sahasranama Archana and daily chanting of
Lalita Sahasranama. As this is being done for the welfare of one and
all, all are invited to come and receive the blessing of Shri Zeashta
Devi and all the Vedic Deities invoked in the havan!

ऐसी सामाजिक रीति-नीति, प्रथा-परम्परा हमें विकसित करनी चाहिए । धन का मान
घटाया जाय और मनुष्य का मूल्यांकन उसके उच्च-चरित्र एवं लोक-मंगल के लिए
प्रस्तुत किये त्याग, बलिदान के आधार पर किया जाये । सभी को सम्मान इसी आधार पर
मिले । कोई व्यक्ति कितना ही धनी क्यों न हो इस कारण सम्मान प्राप्त न कर सके
कि वह दौलत का अधिपति है । उचित तो यह है कि ऐसे लोगों का मूल्य और सम्मान
लोक-सेवियों की तुलना में बहुत घटाकर रखा जाय । धन के कारण सम्मान मिलने से लोग
अधिक अमीर बनने और किसी भी उपाय से पैसा कमाने को प्रेरित होते हैं । यदि धन का
सम्मान गिर जाय, संग्रह को कंजूसी और स्वार्थपरता का प्रतीक मानकर तिरस्कृत
किया जाय तो फिर लोग धन के पीछे पागल फिरने की अपेक्षा-सामाजिक सम्मान प्राप्त
करने के लिए सत्कर्मों की और प्रवृत होने लगेंगे ।

सादगी को सराहा जाय और उद्धत वेशभूषा एवं भडक़ीली श्रृंगार-सज्जा एवं
चित्र-विचित्र बनावट को ओछेपन का प्रतीक माना जाय और जो बचकानी श्रृंगारिकता,
भौंड़ी फैशन, अर्द्धनग्ना, हिप्पी साज-सज्जा पनपी है उसे तिरस्कृत किया जाना
चाहिए । केवल सत्त्प्रवृत्तियॉं सराही जायें, उन्हीं की चर्चा की जाये और
उन्हीं को ही सम्मानित किया जाय ।

We should develop social rituals and traditions that de-prioritize money as
a metric of success, giving more importance to integrity of character and to
the selfless service of humanity. This must be the basis of societal honor
and respect. No matter how much money someone has, they do not deserve
respect on the basis of just the money. More respect must be accorded to
those who spend their lives to serve humanity. Equating money with respect
and recognition has the unhealthy consequence of encouraging people to make
money at all costs. If monetary success garners decreased respect, if
hoarding is interpreted as selfish stinginess, then the single minded
pursuit of money could possible transform into a rewarding pursuit of
righteous action.

Let us praise and encourage simplicity, let us shun the many frivolous
expressions of material success. Let us make righteous thoughts and
righteous actions the focus of not just our conversations, but also the
focus of what we respect, encourage, and appreciate.
