While everyone was marvelling at all that Jesus did, He said to
His disciples, "Listen carefully to what I am about to tell you: The
Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men." But they
did not understand what this meant. It was hidden from them, so that
they did not grasp it, and they were afraid to ask Him about it.
Luke 9:43b-45
There are many things we do not understand, and God knows we
cannot grasp their significance until all the pieces have been set in
place. The Lord may give us enough information to alert and prepare us
for the future, and we need to listen carefully so that when the right
moment comes, we are ready to obey. But the gospel message is not a
mystery any longer. We, who know the way of salvation, can confidently
explain it to others
