MISSION STATEMENT: Our mission is to be the channel, not the source, through
which we pray God's blessings may flow to others. Our ministry is not to
provide counseling, advice, or doctrinal interpretation. For this we refer
you to local spiritual leaders who may know and deal with your needs more
personally. It is our prayer that God may truly bless your day through the
inspiration we seek to channel your way. In Him, Sherry and Jim Heard

Influenced

Author: Russel Dean Mulvey

August 15, 1979 - March 10, 2002

Influence can be good, it can also be bad.
I look into the past and it makes me sad.

The things I did, the things I should've done
At the time I was happy just thinking this was fun.

The people I hurt, the people I made cry,
The people I influenced and now I wonder why.

The problems I caused, the family I lost,
Everything was fun, but at what cost.

The friends I had, no longer here with me.
The bad influence I was, was I the best friend I could be?

Drinking and Partying, a lost cause in this world,
In a downward spiral my life was hurled.

Until I found the Lord, in which I was changed,

My past no longer a factor, my life had been rearranged.

A hard, hard reality, which I was subjected to.

With the help of God, there is nothing I can't do.

Harder and harder, it seemed to get.

A life without the Lord, I deeply regret.

My past is gone, my future is bright

Turn to God, never give up the fight.

Influence today, like never before,

Influence forever, Live life for the Lord.

"Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be
filled with joy;" -2 Timothy 1:4

"terwyl ek verlang om jou te sien as ek aan jou trane dink, sodat ek met
blydskap vervul kan word," -2 Timothy 1:4

The Living Bible

Author: Unknown

His name is Bill. He has wild hair, wears a T-shirt with holes in it, jeans
and no shoes. This was literally his wardrobe for his entire four years of
college. He is brilliant - kind of esoteric and very, very bright. He became
a Christian while attending college.

Across the street from the campus is a well-dressed, very conservative
church. They want to develop a ministry to the students, but are not sure
how to go about it.

One day Bill decides to go there. He walks in with no shoes, jeans, his
T-shirt, and wild hair. The service has already started, so Bill starts down
the aisle looking for a seat. The church is completely packed and he can't
find a seat. By now people are really looking a bit uncomfortable, but no
one says anything.

Bill gets closer and closer and closer to the pulpit and when he realizes
there are no seats, he just squats down right on the carpet. (Although
perfectly acceptable behavior at a college fellowship, trust me - this had
never happened in this church before!). By now the people are really
uptight, and the tension in the air is thick.

About this time, the minister realizes that from way at the back of the
church, a deacon is slowly making his way toward Bill. Now the deacon is in
his eighties, with silver-gray hair and a three-piece suit. He's a godly
man, very elegant, very dignified, very courtly. He walks with a cane and as
he starts walking toward this boy, everyone is thinking, "You can't blame
him for what he's going to do. How can you expect a man of his age and
background to understand some college kid on the floor?"

It takes a long time for the man to reach the boy. The church is utterly
silent except for the clicking of the man's cane. All eyes are focused on
him. You can't even hear anyone breathing. The people are thinking. The
minister can't even preach the sermon until the deacon does what he has to
do. And now they see this elderly man drop his cane on the floor. With great
difficulty he lowers himself and sits down next to Bill to worship with him
so he won't be alone.

Everyone chokes up with emotion. When the minister gains control he says,
"What I'm about to preach, you will never remember. What you have just seen,
you will never forget. Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible
some people will ever read."

There are two incredible points to this story. The first, of course, being
the statement the preacher makes at the end: that we must live the word of
God through our actions, for we may be the only Bible some people will read.

But also, the second, and maybe even stronger message, though it gets lost
in the story: We must sometimes humiliate ourselves in front of our peers to
help someone else become closer to God - as did the deacon, when he chose to
worship with the student, instead of condemn him.

A strong man will bring out your good points, to bring you up to his level -
while a weak man will point out your faults, to bring you down to his.

"For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you."
- John 13:15

"Want Ek het julle 'n voorbeeld gegee om, net soos Ek aan julle gedoen het,
ook so te doen." - John 13:15
