way, because in worshiping their gods, they do all kinds of detestable
things the Lord hates. They even burn their sons and daughters on the fire
as sacrifices to their gods."
How many people are drawn into cults today who just started out as curious?
Probably a larger percentage of them than we would think. Curiosity about
what a particular group believes can lead to destruction. It has before.
It will again. The message they teach to the curious is designed to lure
and to snare. It's worked on millions of other good, strong, intelligent
people. What makes you think you're any different?
Again, God knows us better than we know ourselves. I have met so many
people who were good, upstanding Christians at one point in their lives.
But they became curious about another way. They inquired. They got hooked.
And now they're so far from Jesus, it's hard to remember them as they once
were. Yet, they don't realize what they've done or how far they've strayed.
They're still active in a church. They think they're worshipping God.
They're just doing it in a different way. They think they've seen the
light, when in reality, their curiosity led them straight into darkness.
The enemy's lies are so enticing. And so believable. They make good,
logical, human sense... on the surface. For instance... "Man is inherently
good. All you have to do is look at a baby to see that. This business of
man being sinful is just something the churches made up to get more members
and to fill their coffers." Excuse me, but can anyone show me a
two-year-old that you have to teach to misbehave? If everyone is basically
good, why are our prisons full to bursting? Why are so many marriages
ending in divorce? Why is child and spousal abuse rampant? I could ask
another hundred "why's", but you get the drift.
Today, commit yourself to worship God only in the way He has set out for us
in the Bible. And pray that He will keep you from the temptation of
altering that worship to include the evil practices of men.
