Madhavrao Adkar

Sai Baba said, "Aree Madhava (Mahavrao Aadkar), why are you trying to hide
the paper? Read it aloud!"

Madhavrao read the poem devoted to his Guru Sai Baba in form of Aarti,
which got composed, while he was in Shirdi in 1903-04 AD

On hearing it Sai Baba said, "Your this aarti will look after welfare of
devotees."

Which is this Aarti of Sai Baba?

As we know there are many aartis of Sai Baba daily sung in Shirdi Samadhi
Temple and temples of Shirdi Sai Baba around the world.

Aarti Sai Baba composed by Madhavrao Aadkar, which is sung in afternoon
aarti and evening aarti in Shirdi Samadhi temple. Lyrics of this aarti and
it's meaning are also written at the end of Shri Sai SatCharitra published
by Shri SaiBaba Sansthan Shirdi.

Little more about Madhavrao Aadkar

Madhavrao Adkar was one of the contemporary devotees of Sai Baba of Shirdi.
He was very good friend of Das Ganu Maharaj. Both of them had Sai Baba as
their spiritual guru. Both of them had a sweet voice and sung spiritual and
religious songs. They composed these songs also. Thus they were excellent
medium for popularizing Sai Baba through their compositions and songs.

Das Ganu Maharaj

It was Das Ganu, who took Madhavrao Adkar to Sai Baba. Mahavrao Adkar
considered and honored Das Ganu as his elder brother and had much regards
for him. Das Ganu, reciprocated these feelings. To the extent that he made
Madhavrao sit for puja and garland him, and touch his feet with devotion.
Dasganu affectionately called him 'Baban'.

His visits to Shirdi

Whenever Madhavrao visited the sacred land Shirdi, he would stay in that
divine place for longer periods of time. He sustained himself by taking
private tuitions. And as soon as he felt the pull towards Shirdi, he would
set off for the same.

In the year 1903-04 AD once while he was in Shirdi, totally immersed in
devotion of Sai Baba. Suddenly a poem in form of Aarti was composed. He
wrote it on a piece of paper. When Das Ganu read it he was much happy and
was amazed to read that wonderful composition. Though Madhavrao himself was
not much exited about it. He just put the paper with the aarti in his
pocket.

Both of them went for Sai Baba's darshan in Dwarkamai. Sai Baba knew
Madhavrao was trying to hide the paper. So the conversation happened which
is given at the beginning of this blog post.

There few more stories of Madhavrao Adkar. Which i feel would me much
better that they become part of Sai Baba stories blog and linked to
contemporary devotees of Sai Baba of Shirdi.

एक माँ थी जिसका एक लड़का था, बाप मर चुका था, माँ घरो में बर्तन मांजती
थी बेटे को अपना पेट काटकर एक अच्छे अंग्रेजी स्कूल में पढ़ाती थी,एक दिन
स्कूल में किसी बच्चे ने उसके लड़के के आँख में पेंसिल मार...
दी ,लड़के की आँख चली गई ,डाक्टर ने कहा ये आँख नहीं बचेगी दूसरी लगेगी
,तो माँ ने अपने कलेजे के टुकड़े के लिए अपनी एक आँख दे दी ,अब वो देखने
में भी अच्छी नहीं थी, बेटा उसको स्कूल आने को मना करता था क्योंकि वो
देखने में अच्छी और पढ़ी लिखी नहीं थी ऊपर से एक आँख भी नहीं रही, उसे
अपनी माँ पर शर्म आती थी, कभी लंच बॉक्स देने आती भी थी तो मुह छुपा कर
और अपने को नौकरानी बताती थी ,अपने बच्चे की
ख्वाइश पूरी करने को वो दिन रात काम करती लेकिन बेटे को कमी महसूस नहीं
होने देती , बेटा जवान हुआ एक सरकारी अधिकारी बना उसने लव मैरिज की, उसने
अपनी माँ को भी नहीं बुलाया ,और अलग घर ले बीबी के साथ रहने लगा माँ बूढी
हो रही थी बीमार भी रहने लगी ,लेकिन लड़का अपनी पत्नी और हाई सोसाइटी में
व्यस्त रहने लगा उसे माँ की याद भी नहीं आती थी, माँ बीमार रहती लेकिन
दिन रात अपने पुत्र की सम्रद्धि
और उन्नति के लिए भगवान् से दुआ मांगती रहती कुछ पडोसी माँ का ख्याल
रखते ,एक बार वो बहुत बीमार पड़ी तो उसने अपने बेटे को देखने की इच्छा
जाहिर की लोग लड़के को बुलाने गए तो,वो अपनी बीबी के साथ कहीं टूर पे
घुमने जा रहा था वो नहीं आया उसने कुछ पैसे इलाज़ के लिए भेज दिए ,लेकिन
माँ का इलाज़ तो उसका बेटा था जिसको मरने से पहले देखना चाहती थी उसे
प्यार देना चाहती थी, वो फिर भी बेटे का
इन्तेजार करती रही ,उसके कलेजे का टुकड़ा उसके आशाओं के टुकड़े कर रहा
था ,वो आया लेकिन तब तक माँ मर चुकी थी उसके हाथ में एक फोटो था लड़के का
वही बचपन की स्कूल ड्रेस बाला फोटो धुन्दला गन्दा सा जिसे हर वक्त सीने
से लगाये रहती थी, आज भी सीने से लगाये थी ,लेकिन मरते दम तक वो अपने
कलेजे के टुकड़े को कलेजे से न लगा सकी दिन बीते वक्त बदला लड़के का कार
से एक्सिडेंट हुआ इस एक्सिडेंट में
उसकी दोनों आँख चली गई चेहरे पर चोट लगने से कुरूप लगने लगा दोनों पैर
बेकार हो गए चलने में लचार हो गया ,पत्नी अमीर घर की लड़की थी ,वो दिनों
दिन पति से दूर होने लगी क्योंकि पति अब कुरूप और विकलांग था ,और एक दिन
वो पति को छोड़ कर चली गई ,तब बेटे को माँ की याद आयी ,की कैसे उसने अपने
बेटे के लिए अपनी एक आँख दे दी जीवन के आखरी समय तक वो उसकी फोटो को सीने
से लगाये रही,और वो उसको अपनी पत्नी
और हाई सोसाइटी के लिए माँ को याद भी नहीं करता था आज ईश्वर ने उसे बता
दिया की माँ का प्यार असीम होता है, निस्वार्थ होता है, दुनिया में उससे
ज्यादा प्यार करने बाला कोई नहीं ,वो लेटे लेटे यही सोंच रहा था और रो
रहा था की ईश्वर ने शायद माँ के प्यार की क़द्र न करने की सजा
दी-----------लेकिन शायद माँ स्वर्ग में भी उसकी इस हालत को देख तड़प उठी
होगी "
