The U.S. Justice Department is filing a lawsuit challenging the
constitutionality of Arizona's new law targeting illegal immigrants, setting
the stage for a clash between the federal government and state over the
nation's toughest immigration crackdown. The planned lawsuit was confirmed
to The Associated Press by a Justice Department official with knowledge of
the plans. The official didn't want to be identified before a public
announcement planned for later Tuesday by Attorney General Eric Holder and
Homeland Security secretary Janet Napolitano, a former Arizona governor. The
lawsuit will argue that Arizona's law requiring state and local police to
question and possibly arrest illegal immigrants during the enforcement of
other laws such as traffic stops usurps federal authority. The government
contends that the Arizona law violates the supremacy clause of the
Constitution, a legal theory that says federal laws override state laws. It
is already illegal under federal law to be in the country illegally, but
Arizona is the first state to make it a state crime and add its own
punishment and enforcement tactics. State Sen. Russell Pearce, the principal
sponsor of the bill co-sponsored by dozens of fellow Republican legislators,
denounced the reported lawsuit as "absolute insult to the rule of law" as
well as to Arizona and its residents. "It's outrageous and it's clear they
don't want (immigration) laws enforced. What they want is to continue their
non-enforcement policy," Pearce said. "They ignore the damage to America,
the cost to our citizens, the deaths" tied to border-related violence.

Department and the American Civil Liberties Union argue that the law
impermissibly "conflicts with federal law and enforcement priorities," in
the words of the ACLU suit. And who can disagree? Clearly, Arizona's
priority is to *enforce* the nation's immigration laws; the federal
government's priority is to *ignore* them as much as possible. Case closed.
President Obama last week warned ominously of a "patchwork" of immigration
laws arising as "states and localities go their own ways." Sanctuary cities
acting in open defiance of immigration laws have never notably been the
object of his wrath. (Who's to judge the good-hearted people of Berkeley?)
There's only one part of the dismaying patchwork that stirs Obama's Cabinet
to outrage and his attorney general to legal action -- Arizona's commitment
to enforcement.

US President Barack Obama's attempts to portray himself as pro-Israel in his
press conference with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu at the White House
on Tuesday failed to persuade right-wing MKs, who warned that Obama is
"still evil." The MKs questioned the president's motives and suggested that
he was putting on a show for American Jews ahead of the crucial November
mid-term elections, in which the Democrats may lose control of Congress. "He
doesn't sound evil now because he needs Jewish votes and money," said Deputy
Negev and Galilee Development Minister Ayoub Kara. "But I won't forget the

Russia will deliver 50 BTR-70 armored personnel carriers (APC) to the
Palestinian security forces in the West Bank in the next few days, the
Foreign Ministry said recently. Israel agreed in 2008 on the supply of
Russian APC stripped of weaponry to Palestinian security forces to help them
fight terrorist organizations. "Russia continues to provide assistance to
Palestinians. The 50 APCs will be delivered to Jordan in the next few days
and they will later be transferred to the Palestinian security forces in the
West Bank," said spokesman Andrei Nesterenko at a news briefing in Moscow. The
Russian Defense Ministry earlier said that all 50 vehicles, taken from the
ministry's arsenal, were ready for shipment and weapons have been removed
from them. Russia is donating the APCs to the Palestinian authorities.

The National Population Register (NPR) will start collecting biometric data
of the country's entire adult population between December 2010 and January
2011. NPR will be the biggest biometric database — including face,
fingerprint and iris recognition of the over 1 billion Indian population —
that has ever been made. The Unique Identification Authority of India
(UIDAI) has been established by the government to implement the scheme and
assign unique numbers to all citizens. "We have an agreement with the
Registrar General of India that the NPR exercise under the 2011 census would
collect biometrics data as well. At present we are in the first phase of NPR
which gets the basic information of an individual. In the second phase we
will collect the biometrics data. This will start sometime around December
2010 and January 2011," said R S Sharma, director general UIDAI. Sharma
believes collecting data in phases will be easier instead of doing it
simultaneously with the current process of census. "You have to keep in mind
the logistical hurdles that this project has. It is not going to be a simple
and trivial thing to collect biometrics data. It's a good idea to collect
textual data first and digitise it before adding the biometrics data."

Waiting for the End Times to Begin

I received an Email the other day, from someone who wanted to know why the
Ezekiel 38 war hadn't yet started. I responded that it took the Jews almost
2000 years to reclaim their land in Israel and it was almost thwarted by the
holocaust of WWII. I then added that the Jews coming back into their land
started the end-time clock ticking. We know that another prophetic event was
Jerusalem NOT being controlled by the Gentiles – non-Jewish nations – which
had been continuous since 70 AD. The point is this, prophecy has been
fulfilled in our time. We have seen it unfold exactly like the Guide-book
to the Supernatural i.e. the Bible told us it would.
I had a wonderful discussion with Bill Salus last week, about Psalm 83,
Isaiah 17, and Ezekiel 38. We agreed that we don't know the sequence of
these events, when they will happen and what will set them in motion.
However we did agree that it will become self evident when it happens. In
other words, the thing will speak for itself.
In my opinion there is going to be a flash point, an incident, that sparks
the Middle East war. When this happens we will see what prophecy is being
fulfilled, as it will be obvious. With Turkey now leaning toward Iran and
ongoing saber-rattling against Israel by Hamas, Hezbollah and other nations,
is this a sign that the Ezekiel 38 war is about to begin? Honestly, I don't
know. It appears that the nations are lining up, that the stage is being set
for this, but we must be cautious and see what unfolds. We are told to watch
and be ready. We should know what to look and be ready for and that is what
this BLOG is all about. We know that when we see these things – which
immediately begs the question, what things? – earthquakes in diverse places,
wars and rumors of wars, famines and pestilence, then we should look up
because our redemption is coming. It's really that simple and yet there are
billions of people walking around on this planet that haven't a clue as to
what to look for. Here's a quick punch list:
1. If Israel was not regathered from the nations of the earth, we wouldn't
be talking about any of this it would all be moot!
2. Israel was formed in a day and Jerusalem is now under Israeli control.
3. Israel dwells in safety and is a land of unwalled villages. There is not
one city that is surrounded by a wall like in ancient times. This was
unheard of in the ancient world 2600 years ago when the prophet wrote about
the future.
4. Israel is now being threatened by a loose confederacy that seems to be
the nations of the Ezekiel 38 prophecy. Russia, Iran, Turkey, Lebanon….
However, we also need to be aware of Psalm 83 and Isaiah 17.
5. We are seeing an earthquake somewhere on the planet that is greater than
6.0 every week… coincidence?
6. The world is experiencing natural disasters, volcano's, tsunami's,
floods, famines, droughts. I believe these are the signs we are told look
for.
7. Strange, supernatural events continue world-wide… think UFO's here, crop
circles, cattle/human mutilations, abductions and what I believe is the
ongoing breeding program to create a Nephilim hybrid. "As in the days of
Noah…"
In closing today's post. We are at a threshold, and there will be some event
that creates the tipping point that pushes us over that threshold. We are
about to see events, supernatural events manifest in ways that we could
never imagine. The war in heaven, which has been ongoing for millenia, is
about to spill over here in our dimension. While we wait for it to manifest,
we should not be over-anxious to see, what is known as the Time of Jacobs
Trouble, or the Tribulation. It will be a time unlike any other, and as we
are told by Yashua, unless those days were shortened, no flesh would
survive…. brace yourselves, it's coming….

Just two weeks before the Gulf spill, a BP refinery in Texas released
thousands of pounds of chemicals into the atmosphere. Unsurprisingly, BP did
not handle the situation well (from ProPublica/Frontline):
Two weeks before the blowout in the Gulf of Mexico, the huge,
trouble-plagued BP refinery [1] in this coastal town spewed tens of
thousands of pounds of toxic chemicals into the skies.
The release from the BP facility here began April 6 and lasted 40 days
[2]. It stemmed from the company's decision to keep producing and selling
gasoline while it attempted repairs on a key piece of equipment, according
to BP officials and Texas regulators.
BP says it failed to detect the extent of the emissions for several
weeks. It discovered the scope of the problem only after analyzing data from
a monitor that measures emissions from a flare 300 feet above the ground
that was supposed to incinerate the toxic chemicals.
The company now estimates that 538,000 pounds of chemicals escaped from
the refinery while it was replacing the equipment. These included 17,000
pounds of benzene, a known carcinogen; 37,000 pounds of nitrogen oxides,
which contribute to respiratory problems; and 186,000 pounds of carbon
monoxide.
It is unclear whether the pollutants harmed the health of Texas City
residents, but the amount of chemicals far exceeds the limits set by Texas
and other states.

Type the keywords "Internet censorship" into Google News and you will
immediately understand to what degree the world wide web is under assault
from attempts by governments globally to regulate and stifle free speech.
From Australia to Belarus, from Turkey to Vietnam, from Pakistan to Egypt,
from Afghanistan to Iran, huge chunks of the Internet are going dark as the
Chinese model of Internet regulation is adopted worldwide.
But why should Americans concern themselves with countries halfway across
the globe adopting Chinese-style net censorship? Because under Senator Joe
Lieberman's 197-page Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act, the
United States would formally mimic China's "great firewall" of web
censorship.
When Lieberman himself attempted to debunk claims that the bill provides
Obama, and any following President for that matter, with a figurative 'kill
switch' to disable certain parts of the Internet, he explained that the
government was merely seeking to emulate powers over the Internet already
enjoyed by the Communist Chinese.
Firstly, despite Lieberman's spin, the text of the bill clearly gives Obama
the power to shut down the Internet for at least four months without
Congressional oversight.
Secondly, and even more alarmingly, Lieberman's acknowledgement that the
United States is seeking to emulate China's policies on Internet control
confirm that the entire cybersecurity agenda is primarily concerned with
silencing political opposition to the state, since this factor completely
dominates the Chinese model which Lieberman openly invokes as the ultimate
goal of cybersecurity.
China's vice-like grip over its Internet systems has very little to do with
"cybersecurity" and everything to do with silencing all dissent against the
state.
Chinese Internet censorship is imposed via a centralized government
blacklist of any websites that contain criticism of the state, porn, or any
other content deemed unsuitable by the authorities. Every time you attempt
to visit a website, you are re-routed through the government firewall, often
making for long delays and crippling speeds.
China has exercised its power to shut down the Internet, something that
Lieberman wants to introduce in the U.S., at politically sensitive times in
order to stem the flow of information about government abuse and atrocities.
During the anti-government riots which occurred in July 2009, the Chinese
government completely shut down the Internet across the entire northwestern
region of Xinjiang for days. In several regions, the authorities completely
cut off the Internet for nearly a year, with many areas only now slowly
starting to come back online. Major news and discussion portals used by the
Muslim Uighurs in the area remain blocked. Similarly, Internet access in
parts of Tibet is routinely restricted as part of government efforts to
pre-empt and neutralize unrest.
Major websites like Twitter, Google and You Tube have also been shut down
either temporarily or permanently by Chinese authorities.
News websites in China now require users to register their true identities
in order to leave comments. This abolition of anonymity is used to chill
free speech in that it prevents the user from engaging in criticism of the
state for fear that they would be tracked down by authorities.
Chinese authorities are now going further than merely maintaining a
"blacklist" of banned websites by instituting a "whitelist" of allowed
websites, a move that "could potentially place much of the Internet
off-limits to Chinese readers". Websites not pre-registered with the
government would be completely blocked to all Internet users, meaning
"millions of completely innocuous sites" would be banned. This equates to
requiring government approval to set up a website, which would obviously not
be granted if the person or organization making the application has a
history of or is likely to engage in dissent against the state.
President Obama himself has criticized Chinese Internet censorship as a
hindrance to the free flow of information and allowing citizens to hold
their governments accountable, and yet Lieberman wants to hand Obama similar
powers.
The model Lieberman has identified as the goal of cybersecurity is centered
around keeping people oppressed by eliminating any means of widespread
dissent and preventing people from organizing politically. It has nothing to
do with providing security against foreign hackers and terrorists and
everything to do with strangling free speech critical of the state.
However, this is not merely a war on free speech, it's a war on Internet
anonymity. Even if the government shuts down portions of the web, new
networks are guaranteed to pop up to take their place. Indeed, as people who
have attempted to downplay concerns about the 'kill switch' have rightly
pointed out, Obama could already attempt to shut down the Internet using the
Communications Act, the PCNAA legislation merely codifies this power
formally into law.
The real threat posed by the wider cybersecurity agenda is the
implementation of an individual identity system for all Internet users. This
is what was proposed by Obama's cybersecurity co-ordinator Howard Schmidt in
a paper compiled with the aid of the National Security Council.
The strategy revolves around, "The creation of a system for identity
management that would allow citizens to use additional authentication
techniques, such as physical tokens or modules on mobile phones, to verify
who they are before buying things online or accessing such sensitive
information as health or banking records," reports the FInancial Times.
Only with this government-issued "token" will Internet users be allowed to
"able to move from website to website," a system not too far removed from
what China proposed and rejected for being too authoritarian.
So in this sense, the cybersecurity agenda will ensure a world wide web even
more draconian than the Chinese model, where the threat of the government
identifying individuals, now that anonymity is removed, who engage in "hate
speech" critical of the government and revoking their license to use the
Internet, will inevitably chill free speech from the very outset.
To trust the federal government with the power to regulate free speech by
means of a licensing system for the Internet and not expect the state to
abuse such power is the height of stupidity. Cass Sunstein, Obama's
information czar, openly wrote in a 2008 paper of his desire to combat
"conspiracy theories" (ie any information communicated primarily through the
Internet which represents a threat to the image of the state) by empowering
the government to tax or even ban outright opinions of which it disapproves.
This is what cybersecurity is all about, eliminating the voices of the
oppressed as big government seeks to quicken its takeover of America with
the aid of silent obedience.
The cybersecurity assault on the Internet is also dovetailed with an attack
from a slightly different angle. Numerous private networks, from transport
hubs, to libraries, to universities, to federal government agencies have
installed filters that censor political websites which engage in the "hate
speech" of dissenting against the state. Since the entire Internet consists
of a fusion of privately-owned networks controlled by corporations such as
Verizon, AT&T and Qwest, how long before such filters are standardized?
Lieberman's kill switch bill and the broader cybersecurity agenda has little
to do with over hyped threats from foreign hackers and terrorists and
everything to do with placing a muzzle on the last outpost of true free
speech – the Internet. The state wants to turn the world wide web into a
clone of cable television, a sterile medium controlled almost entirely by
mega corporations and regulated by FCC bureaucracy and red tape. Your
political blog, no matter how many millions of readers it has the potential
to attract, has no place in this newly regulated Internet police state.
Tale action – call your Senator and demand that they vote against
Lieberman's Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act, or kiss your
right to unrestricted, unregulated, and anonymous free speech on the
Internet goodbye. The bill has already been approved by the Senate Homeland
Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and is now awaiting a vote by
the full Senate.

if he/she votes in favor of PCNAA.

INTELLIGENT DESIGN TAUGHT IN QUEENSLAND
Intelligent design to be taught in Queensland schools under national
curriculum [Excerpts]
CREATIONISM and intelligent design will be taught in Queensland state
schools for the first time as part of the new national curriculum.
Creationists dismiss the science of evolution, instead believing that living
things are best explained by an intelligent being or God, rather than an
undirected process such as natural selection.
The issue of creationism being taught in schools has caused huge controversy
in the US, where some fundamentalist religious schools teach it as a science
subject instead of Darwin's theory of evolution.
In Queensland schools, creationism will be offered for discussion in the
subject of ancient history, under the topic of "controversies".
Teachers are still formulating a response to the draft national curriculum,
scheduled to be introduced next year.
Queensland History Teachers' Association head Kay Bishop said the curriculum
asked students to develop their historical skills in an "investigation of a
controversial issue" such as "human origins (eg, Darwin's theory of
evolution and its critics").
"It's opening up opportunities for debate and discussion, not to push a
particular view," Ms Bishop said. Classroom debate about issues encouraged
critical thinking - an important tool, she said.
Associated Christian Schools executive officer Lynne Doneley welcomed the
draft curriculum, saying it cemented the position of a faith-based approach
to teaching.
"We talk to students from a faith science basis, but we're not biased in the
delivery of curriculum," Mrs Doneley said. "We say, 'This is where we're
coming from' but allow students to make up their own minds."
