HIDE AND SEEK -- Exodus 3:1-10 NIV

Exodus

3:1-10 NIV

One of the most obvious things about God's nature - not only in the story of
Moses and the burning bush, but in every story throughout the Bible - is
that God calls us. He is the great Seeker and Finder. We can look for Him
and His purpose until we're blue in the face, but He will do the calling...
not us. And we'd better be ready for the call.

When God calls, He doesn't always give us something comfortable to do. As a
matter of fact, most times, we're uncomfortable with it... at first. What
if He called you to teach Sunday School, today? You've never taught
anything. You hate to be the center of attention. You feel inadequate.
But God says, "I can use your humble nature and your love for Me to minister
to your class. Teach." What would you do?

When God calls, He knows you are ready. You may think you're not. You may
think God mistook you for someone else...got you confused with that other
person who is so spiritual. You're just an ordinary person. You really
don't know the Bible that well. You don't talk well in front of other
people. Well, guess what! Neither did Moses! And look what God did with
him!

"Consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to
the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; but God has chosen the foolish
things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of
the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the
world and the despised, God has chosen, the things that are not, that he
might nullify the things that are, that no man should boast before God." 1
Corinthians 1:26-29 NIV
