Imagine that your beingness, as awareness is like the sky. You have no
limits or form. You know yourself to be that. Suddenly a cloud appears in
the middle of the sky. Unexpectedly you are seeing from the perspective of
the cloud. You can see all around you, but centralized as from the viewpoint
of the cloud. You begin to speculate that you must have been mistaken, in
thinking you were the entire sky. You become used to being the cloud and the
memory of being the sky fades away.
You notice how amazingly beautiful and vast the sky is. And you wonder what
it would be like to be the entire sky.
But then you notice other clouds appearing in the sky. You realize they are
just like you. You imagine all sorts of stories about the other clouds;
which are prettier and which are more grand. You then begin to compare them
to yourself. Sometimes you are jealous and envious of the other clouds. You
become rather unhappy about these feelings and find yourself quite
uncomfortable. You begin to think more and more about yourself and your
suffering.
Then one day, the wind begins to blow and slowly the clouds begin to
disperse and disappear. You notice the other clouds losing shape and
disappearing. You panic as you realize that you too, may disappear. You
notice yourself getting thinner and thinner, losing all sense of form and
specific location. Eventually your cloudness has completely vanished. And
you find yourself once more to be the entire sky.
And now boys and girls, remember: You are something much greater than you
could ever possibly imagine. That something is who and what you truly are.
If you want to discover who you really are, then you have to clear away all
the clouded thinking within your mind. And when the very last thought
regarding who you thought you were has disappeared, you will discover who
you actually were all along, but only thought otherwise. And just like the
cloud who was never at any time separate from the sky, and was an appearance
of the sky, you too are inseparable from the vast Space of Being, as an
appearance of Being Itself. The End
