धर्म का प्रथम आधार है - आस्तिकता, ईश्वर विश्वास । परमात्मा की सर्वव्यापकता,
समदर्शिता और न्यायशीलता पर आस्था रखना, आस्तिकता की पृष्ठभूमि है । यह मान्यता
मनुष्य की दुष्प्रवृत्तियों पर अंकुश रख सकने में पूर्णतया समर्थ होती है ।
सर्वव्यापी ईश्वर की दृष्टि में हमारा गुप्त-प्रकट कोई आचरण अथवा भाव छिप नहीं
सकता । समाज की, पुलिस की आँखों में धूल झोंकी जा सकती है, पर घट-घटवासी
परमेश्वर से तो कुछ छिपाया नहीं जा सकता ।

सत्कर्मों का या दुष्कर्मों का दण्ड आज नहीं तो कल मिलेगा ही, यह मान्यता
वैयक्तिक एवं सामाजिक जीवन में नीति और कर्त्तव्य का पालन करते रहने की प्रेरणा
देती है । सत्कर्म करने वाले को यदि प्रशंसा, मान्यता या सफलता नहीं मिली है तो
ईश्वर भविष्य में देगा ही, यह आस्था उसे निराश नहीं होने देती और असफलताएँ
मिलने पर भी वह सदाचरण के पथ पर आरूढ़ बना रहता है । इसी प्रकार कुकर्मी निर्भय
नहीं हो पाता ।

आस्तिकता धर्म का इसलिए प्रथम आवश्यक एवं अनिवार्य अंग माना गया है कि उससे
हमारा सदाचरण अक्षुण्य बना रह सकता है।

The first or most important pillar of dharma is having faith in God. Its
foundation or basis lies in believing that the God is present everywhere,
even-handed and always imparts fair justice. Such belief is fully capable of
restraining the evil tendencies of people. Our actions, thoughts and
feelings, whether seen or unseen, can never ever remain concealed from the
Omnipresent God. It may be possible to fool society or police but not the
God pervading everything and everywhere.

The good or bad action definitely yields its consequences sooner or later in
form of a reward or a punishment. This belief keeps inducing everyone to
abide by principles and obey duties in personal and social life. If someone
doesn't get any praise, recognition or success for doing something good, the
God will surely reward him/her in future. This belief would not let anything
dampen individual's spirits and keep him/her following the path of
righteousness even in event of being unsuccessful. Likewise, anyone doing
bad things too can never remain free from the fear of its bad consequences.

Russian-Central Asian armies exercise defense of US Caspian oil fields

France's UN Ambassador Gerard Araud warned Wednesday, Sept. 28 that Iran
runs a high risk of a military strike if it continues on the path to nuclear
proliferation. "Some countries won't accept the prospect of Tehran reaching
the threshold of nuclear armament," he said. "Personally I am convinced that
it would be a very complicated operation …with disastrous consequences in
the region."
Ambassador Araud's comment confirmed reports from debkafile's military
sources in recent months that US and European sanctions against Iran had
been ineffectual and the ayatollahs had no intention of slowing down on
their drive for a nuclear weapon.
The French diplomat was not the only one to raise the alarm this week about
regional war clouds circling over Iran.
Sept. 9-26, the Russian army, joined by Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and
Kyrgyzstan, deployed 12,000 troops in a huge combined military exercise
code-named Center-2011 which simulated an Iranian attack on Caspian oil
fields operated by American firms in reprisal for a US strike against
Iranian nuclear sites.

Russian intelligence postulated an instantaneous Iranian reprisal for
this strike and based the war game staged by Russian-led Collective Rapid
Force and the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region
–CSTO – on this assumption.
Our military sources disclose that the forces taking part in the exercise
were briefed for a two-stage scenario:
Stage One: An naval attack on the Caspian Sea coast coming from the south
(Iran).
Stage Two: A large-scale air and ground attack from the south by 70 F-4 and
F-5 fighter-bombers, namely, the bulk of Iran's air force, along with
armored divisions, marine battalions and infantry brigades landing on the
northern and eastern shores of the Caspian Sea.
The Russian briefing conjectured that the Iranian offensive would single out
the Kazakh oil field at Mangustan on the Caspian coast, a field which debka
file reports Exxon Mobile is operating.

Moscow clearly attached the highest importance to the exercise and extreme
credibility to the hypothetical scenario. Russian chief of staff Gen.
Nikolai Makarov personally commanded the drills and on Monday, Sept. 26,
President Dmitry Medvedev toured the field commands and units.

Tehran was not idle: Tuesday, the day before the war game ended, Adm.
Habibollah Sayyari, commander of the Iranian Navy, stated that Iranian
warships would be deployed "close to US territorial waters," since the
Islamic Republic of Iran considers the US presence in the Persian Gulf
"illegitimate and makes no sense."

After Tehran rejected a recent US request to establish a "red phone" link
between the countries to avoid unwanted confrontation between their armed
forces in the Gulf region, Ali Fadavi, Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Navy
chief, commented enigmatically: "When we are in the Gulf of Mexico, we will
establish direct contact with the United States."

A significant remark on the intentions of another nuclear rogue government
came from Peter Hughes, the British Ambassador to North Korea, when he
stopped over in Seoul on his way home from a three-year tenure in Pyongyang.
"I have had discussions with high-level officials, who have made clear to me
their view that if Colonel Qaddafi had not given up his nuclear weapons,
then NATO would not have attacked his country," he said.

The ambassador therefore held out little hope of the long-stalled US-South
Korea talks with the North resumed lately getting anywhere on Pyongyang's
denuclearization.

All these ominous events – pointed comments by French and British diplomats
and the large-scale Russian-Central Asian war game – add up to widespread
skepticism about any chance of halting Iran's race for a nuclear weapon or
disarming North Korea.

taste for the future of robotics. Peter Stone, associate computer science
professor, talked about his UT RoboCup team, autonomous vehicles and other
parts of his research yesterday. Stone's research focuses on how to create
"robust, fully autonomous agents in the real world." Part of creating that
independence is a concept called machine learning, where the robot can learn

Does your fifth grader know how to use a condom? They may soon learn if they
go to school in Washington, D.C.

The District of Columbia Office of the State Superintendent on Education is
pushing out standardized tests for sex education. The District takes its
authority to administer sex education tests to fifth, eighth, and tenth
graders from the Healthy Schools Act of 2010.

Here's how it works: Children as young as 10 will be asked 50 questions. One
of the questions reads: "TJ wants to remain abstinent, but also wants to
know how to properly use a condom in case he is ever in a situation where he
might become sexually active. Give TWO reasons why using a condom properly
is important and describe THREE people or places that could give TJ accurate
information about condom use."

"The guideline questions necessitate age-inappropriate instruction for 10
and 11-year-olds. Previously, comprehensive sex education advocates would
have the minimal—but insufficient—courtesy of allowing parents to opt their
children out of their classes," says Emmett McGroarty, executive director of
the Preserve Innocence Initiative. "Now, parents are being informed that a
non-mandatory class is being replaced by a mandated test."

McGroarty argues that sexual decisions have serious moral and spiritual
implications, and even comprehensive sexual education curricula openly
acknowledge it. As he sees it, now is time to find solutions that empower
parents to address issues related to STDs rather than undermining parental
authority, meddling in admittedly spiritual decisions and imposing a
one-size-fits-all test on local schools.

"As a man who was raised in inner-city Washington, I know that many District
families believe that sex is more than biological—that it should be a full
expression of committed, life-giving love," McGroarty says. "Many families
will be horrified that the District education establishment is demeaning
sex-related education topics to the level of a standardized test."

We're still very much in a self-protective mode with Moon in
crustacean Scorpio. Owning our inner power is rewarding in both love
and work, but we need to be careful not to waste this precious energy
on the frivolous. Friendly vibrations flow easily as Mercury sextiles

KING OF WANDS

The suit of Wands represents the element of fire. It is the intuitive
function, the libido, the primitive life force. Some associations are
– career, creativity, energy, desire, action, intuition, sex,
movement, victory, enthusiasm, confidence, competition, magic and
excellence.

Kings stand for actual people in your life or different aspects of
your personality. Kings are father figures and symbolize mature men,
leadership and authority. Kings stand for force of will, initiative,
publicity, honours, rewards, public recognition.

The King of Wands used to be called the Country Gentleman because he
loves the outdoors and all types of sports. He is also enthusiastic
about change and development. The King of Wands loves to see things
grow too and he adores both animals and children.

a fiery crown on his head and a lion necklace. His gown is orange with
yellow fiery cuffs. the cowl is green, his cloak is yellow with black
salamanders, his slippers are green. There is a green salamander on
the ground on the right side of the card. The sky is blue and there is
a brown mountain in the background on the left.

The physical and emotional nature to which this card is attributed is
dark, ardent, lithe, animated, impassioned, noble. The King uplifts a
flowering wand, and wears, like his three correspondences in the
remaining suits, what is called a cap of maintenance beneath his
crown. He connects with the symbol of the lion, which is emblazoned on
the back of his throne.

Divinatory Meanings

Upright: Dark man, friendly, countryman, generally married, honest and
conscientious. The card always signifies honesty, and may mean news
concerning an unexpected heritage to fall in before very long.

Reversed: Good, but severe; austere, yet tolerant.

Advice that should be followed.
